Blackpool Community Theatre CIC

Blackpool Community Theatre CIC operates as a not profit community interest company. Although our registered and head office address is located in Manchester, our true base is in Blackpool, where we gather as a community and where our members and volunteers engage in performances, classes, and a variety of enjoyable and stimulating activities. So, if you or your child are interested in being part of something special and have a passion for performing, particularly in acting, then join our community theatre; you will not be let down.

Script-reading

Our script-reading sessions will include Jack and the Beanstalk, a pantomime written by company director David Baker. Some scripts are read purely for the joy of acting; others help us decide which productions to stage.

Blackpool Improv Classes For Adults and Children

Improvisation

Improvisation classes involve actors creating scenes characters and dialogue on the spot. They also learn why it’s important. These sessions will be filmed and showcased online including Facebook and TikTok, although actors can opt out.

Theatre! Camera! Action!

Actors will be given short theatre scripts (e.g. ten minutes) or monologue to learn and perform in front of their peers and the session leader. One actor will take on the role of director, guiding the group as they rehearse and stage a mini-production which will be filmed and scared online including Facebook and TikTok.

Theatre Productions

In the near future, our group aims to reach a wider audience by staging pantomimes and other productions in a theatre, rather than performing exclusively in a community centre. We also plan to use screen projections, eliminating the need for traditional sets. We already have the digital scenes for the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk. Our first stage production will be fundraiser variety show.

UK Bullying Support Helplines and Videos

Bullying Support

We offer more than the performing arts. We also offer bullying support resources including helplines and YouTube Childline videos. So, if you or someone else needs support we can help you find the support needed. View Childline videos and helplines

Fundraising

We firmly believe that our mission extends far beyond the confines of theatre.. While it is undeniably vital to generate funds that sustain our own artistic initiatives, our commitment to the community reaches outwards, fostering support for various charities and CICs.
